Heat ventilation and air-conditioning is one of the fastest growing industries and have made their prominent presence in both commercial and domestic field. It has been providing a vital service for many important industries such as chemical labs, food storage, ice factories and many others. These industries need a great temperature difference between two given places for various processes and operation, and to achieve that temperature difference, they use heat pumps or condensers. A condenser is a complex and complicated machine that is used for creation of very high temperature difference between two given points. The condensers work just similar to an air-conditioner, but with slight differences in working. The air conditioner provides only cooling effect, but the condenser or heat pump can also provide heating effect, which makes it suitable for places that receive all types of climatic condition in a year.

The working principle of a condenser is very simple, which states that when a fluid like a gas or liquid is compressed forcibly using some external force, the temperature of the fluid rises to a great level. Now, if you bring the temperature of this compressed fluid down using some means such as cool air or water and then De-compress the fluid, the temperature of the fluid will drop to very low value, and this temperature can be used for many purposes. The condenser tubes are usually filled with a gas, which is normally a refrigerant and it is compressed using a high power compressor, and when the gas is decompressed, the drop in the temperature of the refrigerant is used for various purposes.

The tubes of a condenser are very tender and delicate. Damage to the tubes can be done very easy. Even a slight mechanical impact can cause a leakage in the tubes, which will lower the efficiency of the condenser. With leaking tubes, proper pressure cannot be maintained and hence the condenser cannot work in a proper way. It is important to take care of your condenser and its tubes to ensure best working of your condenser. The damage to the condenser tubes can be done due to many different reasons such as environmental factors, chemical effects such as contact with acids and alkali, mechanical impacts, etc. In order to keep your condenser working, you must replace the tubes with leakage immediately. If your condenser tubes have a small diameter and the tube sheet is larger, then also capacity of the condenser is affected. In that case, you can use a condenser tube expander and increase the diameter of the tube without causing any damage to the tube surface.

Operating a condenser is very typical and difficult, but if you take proper care of your condenser, it can keep working for you for years.
