Introduction to Different Industrial Tools Using Torque

Torque can be defined as moment of force. It can also be explained as when a force is applied around anybody, its tendency to rotate that body is called torque. As the technology is developing, this torque has been using in tools. Here torque is being generated with different sources.

Torque tester is a device which is used to test the tools which are controlled by torque. This is a quality control device. Devices are different types of torque tools. In modern technology, advanced torque testers are having the ability to measure in anticlockwise and clockwise directions.

Torque screwdriver

Torque screwdriver can be explained as a screwdriver which is working with some external force. This tool ensures that tightening of the screw will be at specific torque. It tightens the screw sufficiently but not excessively. Suppose a screw is not tightened sufficiently, then it may loosen during operations and if the screw is tightened excessively, then it can damage the parts. This tool also saves the time of any production process. Manpower will be much costly and it would take much time too.

Torque wrench

Torque wrench is also a tool which works with torque. This is basically used to apply a limited torque to fastener like nut and bolts. It is normally in the form of a wrench with some specialized mechanism. This tool was designed to ensure limited tightening of bolts.

Pneumatic torque wrench

A pneumatic torque wrench can be understood as a torque multiplier or gearbox that is joined with a pneumatic air motor. Air pressure controls the torque output. Gearbox can be explained as a reaction device which is used to allow the torque to operate the bolts and nuts to move with specific speed.

Electric torque wrench

This is basically similar to pneumatic torque wrench as it is like a gearbox which is connected to an electric motor. This uses less effort to perform its tasks. This tools can be used anywhere where we need accurate torque on any nut or bolt. All these tools can work in both clockwise and counter-clockwise direction. The torque output which is applied on the bolt can be controlled accurately by controlling its voltage.

Hydraulic torque wrench

This tool can be explained as any of the torque wrenches on fastener to just achieve accurate tightening or loosening of any bolt by the use of hydraulics. Pneumatic and electric torque wrench use air and electric motor as a source to generate the torque whereas hydraulic torque wrenches use hydraulic power as a source of torque. This torque wrench is usually applied to the nut directly or may be with impact socket. This type of torque wrench was introduced to the market in early 1960, and as the technology was developed, new features and keys were developed for better and sophisticated use of tool. Some features of this tool consist, light weight, accuracy, etc.
